Brian Raftery commented on Liner Notes: Usher Finally Affirms His Masculinity

Dang! It didn't save right. It wasn't that good, though:

The Used's Bert McCracken has a node on one of his vocal chords, forcing the band to cancel two months' worth of shows, and prompting Kelly Osbourne to briefly survey the Hallmark store's "Get Well" section before thinking better of it.

Brian Raftery commented on Listening Station: Once Again, A Band Of Bees Takes Flight

I don't think there's anything in that post implying that these guys could be huge. But the label support has been next to nothing--I don't think they've played in the states in years (if it all), and the new album was all but dumped on reporters at the last minute.

Brian Raftery commented on We're Looking For A Few Good Do-Gooders

@Catbirdseat: Did that work? I've told everyone that I'd prefer everything digitally, but so few labels are doing it that way (or at least the major ones).

Also, it's not really my own guilt over having so much crap--I'd actually like to see the entire industry move toward all-digital, so I'm trying to get some more info on just how many resources are being wasted with mass mailings.

On a side note, it takes forever to get off some of those lists. I know people who left magazine-writing gigs, asked to be taken off all the mailings, and still get forwarded stuff every week.

Brian Raftery commented on The Obligatory "How Will The Sopranos Sound Off"? Post

@NickEddy: There's gotta be something going on with that house. There have just been too many references to it this season, and the "this is Carm's attempt to become independent from Tony, but yet still needs him" symbolism has already been established.

My one hope is that there's no "previously on..." montage, as they sometimes tip to what will end up on the episode. I'm pretty sure no one watching Sunday night will be like, "The Sopranos? Never heard of it! Get me up to speed."

And one of the kid's has gotta die, right? It just seems like they're the last connection Tony has to actual humanity.
