I understand what you wrote about, but you're being so hostile and unwilling to explain yourself further that I guess it doesn't matter. I just don't understand the reasons why a Eurasian would be pissed about white people acknowledging their own unfairly beneficial treatment by society and wanting to change it so that people of other races have a more even playing field. I'm not telling you how to feel, I'm wondering why you feel that way.

Sorry about your rough day, it's just that I think you're getting upset at the wrong people. "White privilege" is something that all white people have, whether they like it or not. I'm white and I realize this, and I think it sucks ass that my race is seen as "the norm" and everyone else is "strange". I think you said you're of mixed race, so if anything, you should be pissed about white privilege more than I am, and it gets me all pissy.

I see what you mean but "white privilege" exists. I'm not sure what I can be called out on. Saying that it exists, I guess? In this case the -ness is to underscore the fact that it's not an attack on against or description of individual white people as it is a way to describe a structural/institutional reality in this country that materially benefits whites because they are white. Conversely whites can choose to be complicit in this system or speak out against it.

As Cornel West said "Even working class and poor whites don't need government intervention to secure their access to working-class or menial jobs."

hey, i don't know if you're still following the asian model thread, so i wanted to clarify my point. sorry, i realized after i hit submit that it could have been taken the wrong way. my point was not about the individual parental relationships or their kids. what creeps me out is that ALL 10 or so half-asian kids at my high school (other than me) had asian mothers and caucasian fathers. it's the trend that disturbs me, not the individual instances. and i completely understand where you're coming from in feeling that accusations of fetishization are as problematic as actual instances of fetishization, if that makes any sense. hey, i'm a half-asian chick dating a white guy. turn about is fair play, right?
